INDEPENDENT EDUCATIONAL EVALUATIONS (IEE)

Are you looking for a "second" opinion on your child's last assessment?

Are you seeking an experienced, neutral third-party assessor?

I'm here to help--IEE's provide families with a neutral, third-party assessment of the student.  They are provided at public expense and funded by the child's school district.

OVERFLOW OR PRIVATE         ASSESSMENTS

Are you seeking a confidential, private assessment of your child to help them access their learning?

Are you a school district whose psych staff is overwhelmed with assessments?

I'm here to help---my full psycho-educational evaluations can be commissioned at parent's expense or overflow assessments can be done when a school district does not have the staffing to cover their caseload.

IEP MEETING                                PREP & SUPPORT

Are you struggling to have your voice heard at the IEP table?

Are you concerned that you don't know the questions to ask to get the outcomes you want?

I'm here to help--I can assist you with reviewing your child's assessment results and explaining it in simple terms.  I can also help prepare you for IEP meetings so you know questions to ask and in some circumstances, will attend the IEP meeting to help facilitate specific actions.

NPS/RESIDENTIAL                PLACEMENT SUPPORT

Are your child's mental health needs/safety needs usurping their ability to access their education?

Is your family struggling with finding a school that focuses on mental health and academics?

I'm here to help--I have extensive experience with Nonpublic School placements in Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado Counties.  I have facilitated placement into and out of local NPS' with hundreds of students.  I also have visited and facilitated many out-of-state Residential Placements and can help connect you with the correct placement.

ABOUT

Meghan Magee, M.A., Ed.S.
Licensed Educational Psychologist
License # 4271

Hi. My name is Meghan Magee and I'm thrilled you stopped by my website. For over 26 years, I have worked in public education in a variety of roles, but none is more exciting than serving as a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP). My goal is to help you, your child/young adult, your family, and school community best understand your child/young adults learning profiles and learning style. Some of my favorite work as a 1st, 2nd and 5th grade teacher was working with struggling students and seeing the joy on a student's face when they began to learn to read or acquire basic math skills.  It was this love of learning that led me to become a School Psychologist, where I could dig in deeper and understand the way a student learns from psychological perspective. My work as a School Psychologist also afforded me the chance to counsel students and help them develop coping tools to help them access their learning. I have also served in a variety of district administrative positions which provided me with a vast understanding of the legal components of assessments, IEP development, and legal timelines. It is my belief that great assessment data helps all involved best serve students by connecting the dots in education.
